Swim at The College

The Swim School operates independently of the College and needed a visual identity to distinguish this whilst being visually aligned with other Enterprise ventures associate with the College, such as College Camp.

We established a core colour to be used across all Enterprise visual identities – ‘College Blue’, taken from the existing College Camp identity, and set rules around typography and graphics. By using the brandmark as an image frame and consistent placement of graphic devices such as logos and imagery, we start to build a graphic language that can be used to bring a sense of unity to the various visual identities under the Enterprise umbrella.

Developing The Wave

Initial exploration ruled out the use of the capital letter as a brand mark, as is used for College Camp, as this brand system would set the style for further projects under the Enterprise umbrella. Whilst this graphic style would work well with a venture like Venue Hire, it does not have the scope to accommodate a venture such as Weddings at The College.

I wanted to take inspiration from the unique features and architecture of the pool building itself. The ‘Wave’ – an obvious nod to the design of the pool building – is composed of the two capital S’ of ‘Swim School’ and can be used as a standalone brand mark or adapted into pattern.
